Graciela’s father died when she was only a toddler. Graciela’s immigrant mother worked at a factory and did local childcare in their neighborhood to provide for the family. Graciela vowed to help her family.

After graduating from UCLA, Graciela Ortiz earned her master’s degree in social work (MSW) from Cal State Long Beach and became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). For nearly two decades, Graciela has mentored people on probation, the formerly incarcerated, homeless youth, and those in the foster system.

As a classroom college teacher, Graciela Ortiz is helping prepare the next generation of students while she earns her PhD in Educational Leadership at California State University, Fullerton.
